Jay D. Nitz, CAI, is President & CEO of Jack Nitz & Associates, Inc. Auctioneers & Land Brokers. He graduated from Cedar Bluffs High School in 1983 and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Southeast Community College from 1983-1986. In 1982, Jay attended the Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, Missouri and received his diploma. In 1986 through 1988, Jay also attended the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) program and maintains his CAI designation today. This program consists of a 1-week program for 3 years at the Indiana University campus in Bloomington, Indiana. He is also a member of the Nebraska & Iowa Auctioneers Associations and is also a Life Member of the National Auctioneers Association.

Jay was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the National Auctioneers Association at the annual Conference & Show held July 16-21, 2007 in San Diego, CA.  The National Auctioneers Association is the largest professional organization in the world for the auction profession.  Jay’s wife, Vicki, was also recently elected to the National Auctioneers Association Auxiliary Board of Directors in San Diego, CA.  Both Jay & Vicki will serve 3 year terms on their respective boards. 

Jay served a 3-year term on the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association and assisted with the planning of the 1991 National Auctioneers Association Convention in Omaha, Nebraska. Jay has also conducted many various seminars for the National Auctioneers Association, most recently at the 2004 NAA Conference & Show in Madison, Wisconsin, and has also assisted in the Election of Officers of the National Auctioneers Association for the past 10 years.

Jay has also been awarded 6 National Advertising Awards for Excellence from the National Auctioneers Association over the last 15 years. He has also received numerous awards for Advertising Excellence from the Nebraska & Iowa Auctioneers Associations, including Grand Champion - Best of Show in 2002, 2004 & 2006 for the Nebraska Auctioneers Association.

Jay has been a licensed Real Estate Broker in the States of Nebraska & Iowa.  Jay  manages Jack Nitz & Associates Auctioneers & Land Brokers Real Estate Division, specializing in the Sale of Farms, Acreages & Ranches on a Private Treaty Basis and Real Estate at Public Auction. Jay oversees & manages the sale of 50-60 properties per year. Jay is also a Member of the Fremont, Nebraska & National Realtors Associations and is also a Member of the Fremont Area Board of Realtors and the local Multiple Listing Service.

Jay is also personally responsible for managing over 50 Personal Property Auctions for Jack Nitz & Associates Auctioneers, Inc. each year. Jay is also the Chief Auctioneer for all Real Estate Auctions and most of the Personal Property Auctions held by Jack Nitz & Associates Auctioneers & Land Brokers.

Jay is also the Chief Personal Property Appraiser for the Company and specializes in the areas of Heavy Equipment, Trucks & Trailers and Farm Equipment. Jay handles approximately 25-30 Appraisals per year covering from 10 to 400 pieces of equipment per Appraisal.

Jay is a member of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska. Jay is also very active in community fund-raising activities, conducting fundraising Auctions for Habitat for Humanity, Boy Scouts, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Heart Association, and many others. Jay has also participated as an Auctioneer for the Saunders County 4-H Livestock Auction for the last 20 years, and also the Cedar Bluffs Community Auction for the last 20 years, raising money for 10 separate National Charities.

Jay's family includes his wife Vicki of 20 years, twin children Courtney & Justin, ages 19 years. Jay's wife Vicki serves as a Director of Jack Nitz & Associates, Inc. Auctioneers & Land Brokers and is the Chief Cashier and Bookkeeper for the Company. Jay's children have and currently are active in the Auction Business and have been since they were both 7 years old.

Jack, CAI, is the co-owner and chairman of the Board at Jack Nitz & Associates, Inc. In 1962, Jack attended the World Wide College of Auctioneering in Mason City, IA.  He was a 1981 graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute, consisting of a one week, three year course held at the University of Indiana.  He has been a member of the Nebraska, Iowa and National Auctioneers Association for over 34 years.  Jack was awarded “Auctioneer of the Year” in 1992 by the Nebraska Auctioneers Association, he served on the National Auctioneers Association Board of Directors, certified Auctioneers Institute Board of Governors, was co-chairman of the 1991 National Auctioneers Association Convention in Omaha, NE. He presently serves as chairman of the Board and Past President of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association.  In 1997, Jack was inducted into the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame, the highest honor an auctioneer can receive from his or her peers.  He has also served 2-3 year terms as one of the elected Trustees of the National Auctioneers Foundation Board and chairman of the Museum Hall of History Committee.  Jack has been a licensed Real Estate Broker for over 37 years. He has conducted both Real Estate and Personal Property Auctions in Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota, Missouri, Idaho as well as throughout the state of Nebraska. 

Jack has also been awarded 15 National Advertising Awards for excellence in advertising from the NAA.  Over the last 30 years, he has also received countless advertising awards from the Nebraska and Iowa Auctioneers Associations.

He has been a longtime member of the Sinai Lutheran Church in Fremont, NE. He served as past Board Member and is currently serving on the Endowment Foundation Committee.  Jack is also active in the Shriners, and conducts many fundraising auctions for various programs.

Jack’s family includes his wife and co-partner, Delores.  The have been married for 52 years.  The have two children, Jay and Jennie.  Jay is the President and CEO of the auction company.  Jay and his wife Vicki have twins, Courtney and Justin.  Jennie is Jack and Delores daughter. She is married to Ray Rasmussen and they have two children, a son Jeremy and a daughter Piper.  Jennie is employed at the Omaha Auto Auction and Ray is a supervisor at Southfork Industries. 

Delores Nitz
Retired Secretary/Treasurer

Delores Nitz, is co-owner of Jack Nitz & Associates. Delores is retired. She assists at Real Estate Auctions conducted annually. Delores is a member of the Nebraska and National Auctioneers Association Auxiliaries. She has served on the Board of Directors of the National Auxiliary and as co-chairperson of the 1991 National Auctioneers Association Convention in Omaha.  She recently received her 25 year pin from the National Auctioneers Association Auxiliary.  Delores is currently the Past President of the Nebraska Auctioneers Auxiliary. 

She is active in the Shriner’s Ladies of the Nile.  She is also a member of the Red Hat Ladies Club, Newcomers and contributes to various church activities. She is nationally known as a doll authority and has conducted Doll Seminars at the State Auctioneers Conventions in Nebraska, Kansas & Iowa.  Delores is a member and a current Director of Altrusa’s International and Professional Womens Club of Fremont, NE.

Vicki Nitz
Office Manager/Cashier & Clerk

Vicki has been married to Jay for 20 years. She has worked with him in the auction business for 15+ years. She is the office manager and head cashier at all the auctions. She and Jay have a set of twins, Justin and Courtney, which also help out with the business. In her spare time she enjoys selling Longaberger baskets and Mary Kay makeup.

This past summer at the National Auctioneers Association Convention she joined the National Auxiliary Board of Directors. She will serve a 3-year term while on the board. She looks forward to the many opportunities that the board has to offer her and the business.

Larry joined the Jack Nitz & Associates Staff in 1999 after many years as a Farm Cooperative Manager, Interim Manager & Consultant.  Larry is married to wife Dorothy of 44 years; they have two grown children, Jamie & Kelly, and six wonderful grandchildren.

Larry’s duties include: managing approximately 20 auctions annually and serving as the company’s Internet & Technology Advisor.  Larry also produces many of the Award Winning Auction Brochures for the company auctions.  Larry’s hobbies include golf, computers, and spending time with his grandchildren. 

Charlie Dake

Charlie has been listing & selling real estate for 26 years. Presently he is an associate broker licensed in Nebraska and Iowa with Jack Nitz & Associates. He has been married to Sharon for 44 years. They have three grown children and five wonderful grandchildren.

Over the years he has sold ranches, farms, homes, acreages and turn-key businesses. He especially likes selling acreages and turn-key businesses. If you have something to sell or are looking for something to buy please give him a call, he would be happy to assist you.

Heather Klevemann is the newest addition to the Nitz family business. Heather has been with us since November of 2005 and she received her Real Estate Salesperson License in January of 2007. Along with being a Real Estate Agent she is our Title Clerk, Administrative Assistant, and Clerk & Cashier. She has been a great addition to our staff. 

In her spare time she loves collecting Longaberger and spending time with her two children, Brittni and Aaron.

Courtney Nitz-Mensik

Courtney is Jay & Vicki’s daughter. She is a 2006 graduate of Cedar Bluffs High School and will graduate with an Business Management Associates Degree in December 2009 from Metropolitan Community College in Fremont. Courtney took real estate classes the summer of 2007 and plans on taking her test sometime soon. Courtney attended Repperts School of Auctioneering in November of 2007 where she became a licensed auctioneer. She enjoys going with Dad to learn the ropes of the Auction business. She has been working for the family business for over 12 years and hopes to enhance her career as an Auctioneer and Real Estate Agent.

Justin Nitz
Load-out Specialist

Justin is Jay and Vicki’s son. He is a 2007 graduate of Cedar Bluffs High School and has been working for the family business for over 10 years. He loves helping dad and grandpa around the office. Especially loves setting up for auctions and holding items up in the ring on auction day. He now works for the office full-time since he is graduated.

Justin loves collecting anything John Deere just like his grandfather. He recently got his drivers license and is very proud to be driving his “new” blue truck.
